Saturday, 18 August 2018. Day 1: 60km
Day 1 consisted of 60km of challenging route. A gloomy, wet start and slight rain delay, had the riders kicking off into the forest and tackling some really muddy (but fun) obstacles! Riders were offered a bike clean at the first water table, after which they hit the Umkomaas Valley. Here, they were welcomed by the glorious, warm sun which dried up the valley allowing for perfect riding conditions!
From picturesque descents, shaded single track along the river to the gradual (but challenging) climb home the riders were blown away (and slightly stiff) by Day 1.

Sunday, 19 August 2018. Day 2: 45km
Day 2 greeted our riders with a beautiful sunrise and hot weather. The riders enjoyed 45km of open and free flowing riding through cane and timber farms. Our signature water-slide into the dam was well used and enjoyed by most of our riders. The addition of our 130m floating bridge brought fear, followed by smiles to most of our riders! Riders did have the option to cycle around the dam if they had a electric bike. The stretch home saw our riders supported by the ‘Flamingo Girls’. These lovely ladies gave them an extra boost of encouragement to push it to the finish.
